FAQ
- Why 25 minutes for a Pomodoro?
- Cirillo found that 25 minutes is long enough for meaningful progress on a task and short enough that almost anyone can resist distraction for the full block. After four Pomodoros, take a longer break.
- Should I really stop at 25 minutes if I am in the flow?
- Cirillo says yes — the discipline of stopping is what makes the system work, and the 5 minute break is what lets you sustain six or eight Pomodoros across a working day. If you need to keep going, treat the next block as a fresh Pomodoro.
- Does the timer survive a closed tab?
- Yes. The 25 minute countdown runs on the server. Close the tab, lock your laptop, switch devices — the notification still arrives on the channel you picked.
- Can I save this as a recurring focus block?
- Yes. After running it once you can save the timer as a daily or weekday-only reminder so the 25 minute block is queued up automatically.
