Most desk workers sit for too long without a real break. The Pomodoro technique prescribes a 5-minute break after every 25 minutes; ergonomics research suggests a longer break of 10–15 minutes every couple of hours; the 20-20-20 eye-rest rule is a 20-second look at something 20 feet away every 20 minutes. All of them are easy to ignore without a hard endpoint. This break timer is that endpoint. Default 10 minutes — enough to walk to the kitchen, look out a window, do a stretch, drink water, and come back without spiralling into a 45-minute scroll. Set 5 if the day is dense and you only need a reset; set 15–20 if the previous block was long. Label the timer ("eye rest", "walk", "hydration") and the end notification will say so. The countdown runs server-side, so the notification fires on Telegram, push, or email when the break is up — no need to watch the clock. For longer focus blocks the 25-minute Pomodoro and 5-minute pause are the classic pair; this page covers the in-between break.

FAQ

How long should a work break be?
Pomodoro short breaks are 5 minutes. Longer breaks every 1–2 hours work better at 10–15 minutes. The default here is 10 minutes — adjust to your routine.
Will the break timer notify me if I close the tab?
Yes. The countdown is scheduled server-side; the end-of-break notification arrives via Telegram, push, or email regardless of the tab being open.
How does this differ from the 5-minute and 10-minute timers?
It is the same widget with a default chosen for breaks (10 minutes) and breaks-specific FAQ. Use whichever URL matches your workflow.
Can I save a daily break schedule?
Yes. After running it once, save the timer as a daily or weekday recurring reminder.
