Most meetings drift past their booked end-time, and most attendees do not say anything because nobody wants to be the person ending the meeting. A timer is the lowest-friction enforcement tool: a notification at the booked endpoint, with a label everyone in the room agreed on before it started. Default here is 30 minutes — the most common slot length. Set 15 for a stand-up, 45 for a working session, 60 for a deep-dive. Label the timer with the meeting topic ("OKR review", "customer call", "design crit") and the end notification will arrive with that label, which is sometimes useful for tracking how often each meeting type runs over. The countdown is scheduled server-side, so the notification fires on Telegram, push, or email regardless of which device the meeting is happening on. For online meetings, browser push to the laptop running the call is the most visible channel; for in-person meetings, the phone is usually closer. For a longer-form meeting cap (an hour or more) the 1-hour timer is the natural pair; for shorter stand-ups, the 15- or 25-minute timers work.
